Easy Guacamole Recipe
A simple avocado dip made with a fork and bowl.
Sometimes laziness involves a
little planning. Is it easier to use the
food processor when you'll have to clean it afterwards, or skip the mess and use
a little elbow grease? I opted for a
fork-smashed guacamole this time, and quite smugly dropped the dirty fork in
the dishwasher afterwards while my processor sat gleaming on the counter. This is a very basic guacamole that is
delicious with chips, crackers or bread. I used store-bought Indian bread (Paan). Nothing like mixing cultures. Leave bits of avocado whole for substance and true homemade effect. On a really lazy day, this is filling enough
for lunch.
Easy Guacamole Recipe
- 3 slightly soft avocados
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 jalapeno, minced (or a
splash of hot sauce) - 1 handful fresh Cilantro,
chopped - 1 lemon, juiced
- Salt and pepper
- Splash of olive oil
Peel avocados and remove pits. Roughly chop and put in bowl. Add remaining ingredients and mash well with
a fork (or blend in processor), leaving some avocado chunks. Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve with warm bread, crackers or chips.

I agree. Making Guac in a bowl with a good old fork is the way to go. The bites of avocado are much better than a smooth pile of green sauce, and not having to clean the processor is a huge bonus. This has me thinking of summer. Yum!
