Grilled Brussels Sprouts and Mushrooms

Sometimes you gotta work with what you've got. As usual, we had a box of Brussels Sprouts in
the fridge. Tonight we were grilling,
and it just seemed like a weird thing to grill to me, but this turned out
beautifully. Dare I say even a non‑Brussels
sort would like it. Some day I'll buy
one of those grilling baskets, but meanwhile, I'm using the old-fashioned foil
method. Improve on that if you can.

Grilled Brussels Sprouts and Mushrooms

  • 1 pound Brussels Sprouts, trimmed
  • 8 oz. mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • Splash olive oil
  • Salt & pepper

Put the sprouts and mushrooms in a bowl. Sprinkle with vinegar and oil, then salt and
pepper. Toss. Spoon into a foil packet (or grill basket if
you have one) and grill until cooked through, about 10 or 15 minutes.
